Saturday afternoon one of my really good friends was in pain, for a short while. Then the nurse gave her a half a shot of morphine and she was all smiles. She was really drowsy but feeling good. Once the morphine kicked in she started to hold her breath for long periods of time to see if she could get the heart monitor to react. Then she started to tell me a story about one of her friends and her heart started to race. Maybe if she were hooked up to a heart monitor and on morphine all the time she would remember to relax and not say woooo-saaaaa.
